Lessons beyond the classroom

The past two years of working toward my diploma have been some of the most challenging, yet rewarding, years of my life. When I first joined the program, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. Now, looking back I can see how far I’ve come, not just in terms of knowledge, but in who I am as a person and as a future professional.

From day one,  all the courses demanded commitment, a lot of discipline and resilience. Whether it was learning important concept, getting through group projects or working on assignments, every step taught me something new not just about the subject but about how I learn and work the best.

One of the most valuable parts of this journey was the real-world focus of the curriculum. We didn’t just study theory, we learned how its used and applied in the business world. I started to understand how organizations work, how decisions are made and what it means to be part of a team.

As insightful as it was, it was anything but easy, there were moments of self-doubt, assignments that overwhelmed me, presentations that made me nervous however in the end  getting through those made me stronger. I developed better time management, improved my communication skills and learned how to think critically and creatively under pressure.

Most importantly, I discovered what I’m truly passionate about: understanding people, processes and how to make workplaces better. Following my internship and after completing an HR course, my interest in the field grew even stronger and continues to inspire me to pursue a career in Human Resources. These two years were more than just a diploma. They were a journey of growth, mistakes, learning and wins.
